in this photo we can see a police officer holding up a piece of paper that has a significant meaning. the paper has HELP written across, this word completely throws off societies old views on police officers. officers are usually seen as a figure to get help from and often it is overlooked by society that these are people too and they also face their own problems each and every day whilst dealing with some of the most horrific incidents. i think this particular picture links in to mens mental health and how we need to pay more attention to individuals and offer as much support as they need. his job is distinctively pre-exposing him to a world of blood and violence along with things no person deserves to see. as a society we heavily rely on people like him to offer support to anybody that would ever need it without giving anything back to them. However, this picture could alternatively be expressing this mans willingness to help passers by and show how devoted to his local community he is, either way i believe it portrays an important message that will leave an impression on society.

in this photo we see an older woman posing with a plastic mask covering her face. personally i believe the meaning behind this photo is to demonstrate how nobody knows their true self and how we constantly put a mask on to cover up our insecurities. i think this photo also highlights what exactly is going wrong in our society and how we are never happy with ourselves and how we hide the bad things. i think this picture closely links to modern society with how we publish our lifetime on Facebook blocking out the bad things and hiding behind a fake happiness.

Evaluation

for my final photo i decided to choose a stereotype that commonly effects the person who holds the paper in a way to show that people deal with misconceptions each and every day. i think it fits the brief as it has a similar sort of meaning as Wearings ideas. personally i think this project went well due to the fact that its meaningful and has an effect on the viewer. it can also be taken in two ways as one side would think that showing too much affection is a bad thing whereas some will just say he is just truly happy. i think this particular project taught me how to include a more in-depth meaning to my photography projects. i think if i was to do this project again i would try to make my photo stand out more with a hint of color or something that stands out.
